In July 2024, we had the pleasure of delivering a brand-new Hallberg-Rassy 340 from Neustadt to Zeeland for the HISWA Boat Show in Lelystad.

With a crew of four, we completed the journey in six days, including two overnight passages. We rotated through 3-hour night shifts, making the most of steady eastern winds, which gave us an impressive average speed of 7.3 knots. Along the way, we navigated through busy shipping lanes, passing several large sea-going vessels, including deep-sea ships from Maersk.

The voyage began with a challenge: the new Hallberg-Rassy didn’t come equipped with a VHF radio, as in Scandinavia, mobile phones are more commonly used for communication. To ensure a safe passage, we made a quick stop in Kiel to purchase a handheld VHF radio, an essential tool for navigating busy waters.

Overall, it was a perfect delivery with fantastic weather and smooth sailing.
